Sophia was born and raised in China. She moved to the UK to study and has been living here for over 20 years. Having spent half her life in the East and half in the West, she has had the unique opportunity to experience the best of both worlds. Growing up in a traditional Chinese family instilled in her a strong sense of community and collective spirit. However, studying and living in the UK allowed her to discover and embrace her individuality. For the past 14 years, she has been on a journey of self-discovery, continuously learning, challenging herself, and staying true to who she is.
Sophia holds both a bachelor's and a master’s degree in International Business Administration. Yet, through her journey of self-discovery, she found her true passion lies in design and art. Along the way, she founded a menswear accessories brand, YHIM, and her design was featured in British GQ, the Evening Standard, Huffington Post, and on Dragons’ Den. In 2018, she published her first book, "Be A Remarkable Man," aimed at empowering people to discover their true selves.
Sophia is now embarking on a new chapter of her life, exploring her artistic potential in painting and crafting. Her latest venture, Sophia Wu Art, is a continuation of her self-discovery journey. She is passionate about creating unique art, not only as a means of self-expression but also to inspire others to do the same.
Throughout her life journey—shaped by both Eastern and Western cultures, a background in business and a passion for art, and experiences of both highs and lows of life-she has discovered that life is about finding balance. Her art embodies and manifests Balance. Read Sophia’s Art Philosophy to learn why and how she applies Balance to create each one-of-a-kind piece.
